According to question , we draw a figure of a circle with centre O ,

OA = radius = 10 cm.
AB = chord = 16 cm.
OC ⊥ AB
∴ AC = CB = 8 cm.
∴ OC = √OA² - AC²
OC = √10² - 8² = √100 -64
OC = √36 = 6 cm.
