  1. A chord of a circle is equal to its radius. A tangent is drawn to the circle at an extremity of the chord. The angle between the tangent and the chord is
    1. 30°
    2. 45°
    3. 60°
    4. 75°
Correct Option: A

According to question , we draw a figure of a circle with centre O

OB = OC = radii
∴ In ∆ OBC,
OB = BC = CO
∴ ∠OCB = ∠OBC = ∠BOC = 60°
OC ⊥ DE
∴ ∠BCD = 90° – 60° = 30°
