In triangle ABC, ∠BAC = 90° and AD is perpendicular to BC. If AD = 6 cm and BD = 4 cm, then the length of BC is :

1. 10 cm.
2. 12 cm.

According to question , we draw a figure triangle ABC in which AD is perpendicular to BC

Given , AD = 6 cm. and BD = 4 cm.
∴ AB = √AD² + BD²
AB = √6² + 4²
AB = √36 + 16
AB = √52 cm.

⇒ BD =	AB²	⇒ 4 =	52
	BC		BC

⇒ BC =	52	= 13 cm.
