Two poles of ht. a and b meters are p meters apart (b > a). The height of the point of intersection of the lines joining the top of each pole to the foot of the opposite pole is :

As per given figure , we know that

1	=	1	+	1
h	=	a	+	b

1	=	a+b
h	=	ab

∴ h =	ab
	a+b
