  1. If x , y, and z are real numbers such that (x – 3)2 + (y – 4)2 + (z – 5)2 = 0 then, (x + y + z) is equal to
    1. –12
    2. 0
    3. 8
    4. 12
Correct Option: D

If a2 + b2 + c2 = 0 then, a = 0, b = 0 and c = 0
∴ (x – 3)2 + (y – 4)2 + (z – 5)2 = 0
∴ x – 3 = 0 ⇒ x = 3
y – 4 = 0 ⇒ y = 4
z – 5 = 0 ⇒ z = 5
∴ x + y + z = 3 + 4 + 5 = 12
