If √x = √3 − √5 , then the value

√x = √3 - √5
On squaring both sides,
x = 3 + 5 - 2√15
⇒ x - 8 = - 2√15
Squaring again,
x² – 16x + 64 = 60
⇒ x² – 16x + 4 = 0
∴ x² – 16x + 6 = 2
