Let A worked for x days.
According to question

	x	+	( x + 17 )	= 1
	28		35

⇒	5x + 4(x + 17)	= 1
	140

⇒ 5x + 4x + 68 = 140
⇒ 9x = 140 – 68 = 72
⇒ x = 8
∴ A worked for 8 days
