According to given question,

2nd method

⇒ ( P + 2 + P )( P + 2 - P ) = 84
⇒ ( P + 2 + P )( 2 ) = 84
⇒ ( P + 2 + P ) = 84/2
⇒ ( P + 2 + P ) = 42
