While selling a watch, a shopkeeper gives a discount of 5%. If he gives a discount of 6%, he earns ₹ 15 less as profit. What is the marked price of the watch?

Let the marked price of watch be y.
According to question ,
( 100 - 5 )% of y - ( 100 - 6 )% of y = ₹ 15
⇒ 95% of y - 94% of y = ₹ 15

∴	y × 95	-	y × 94	= 15
	100		100

⇒ y = 15 × 100 = ₹ 1500
