A fruit seller had some apples. He sells 40% apples and still has 420 apples. Originally, he had :

Let the fruit seller had originally x apples.
According to the question;
x – 40% of x = 420

⇒ x -	40	× x = 420
	100

⇒ x -	2x	= 420
	5

⇒	5x - 2x	= 420
	5

⇒	3x	= 420
	5

∴ x =	420 × 5	= 700
	3

60% = 420 (Directly)
