A lends ₹2500 to B and a certain sum to C at the same time at 7% annual simple interest. If after 4 years, A altogether receives ₹ 1120 as interest from B and C, the sum lent to C is

Let the sum lent to C be y .
Here , P₁ = ₹ 2500 , P₂ = ₹ y , T = 4 years , R = 7% and SI = ₹ 1120

∴ SI =	Principal × Time × Rate
	100

According to the question,

2500 × 7 × 4	+	y × 7 × 4	= 1120
100		100

⇒ 2500 × 28 + 28y = 112000
⇒ 2500 + y = 4000
⇒ y = 4000 – 2500 = 1500
