A cycle dealer offers a discount of 10 % and still makes a profit of 26 %. What does he pay for a cycle whose marked price is ₹ 840 ?

Let C.P. of cycle = Rs. p

∴ 840 ×	90	=	p × 126

⇒ p × 126 = 840 × 90

⇒ p =	840 × 90	= ₹ 600

Here, r = 26%, D = 10%, M.P. = ₹ 840

M.P.	=	100 + r
C.P.	=	100 − D

840	=	100 + 26
M.P.	=	100 − 10

C.P. =	840 × 90	= Rs. 600
