Direction: In the following questions two equations numbered I and II are given. You have to solve both the equations and give answer
( 1 ) if x > y
( 2 ) if x ≥ y
( 3 ) if x < y
( 4 ) if x ≤ y
( 5 ) if x = y or the relationship cannot be established.

According to question ,we can say that
From equation Ⅰ. 2x2 + 11x + 12 = 0
⇒ 2x2 + 8x + 3x + 12 = 0
⇒ 2x( x + 4) + 3( x + 4) = 0
⇒ ( 2x + 3) ( x + 4) = 0

∴ x = -

or, - 4

From equation Ⅱ. 5y2 + 27y + 10 = 0
⇒ 5y2 + 25y + 2y + 10 = 0
⇒ 5y( y + 5 ) + 2( y + 5 ) = 0
⇒ ( 5y + 2 ) ( y + 5 ) = 0
∴ y = -

or, - 5
