Two numbers, when divided by 17, leave remainders 13 and 11 respectively. If the sum of those two numbers is divided by 17, the remainder will be

Let two numbers are P and Q.
According to question ,
First number (P) = 17p + 13
Second number (Q) = 17q + 11

∴	P + Q	=	17(p + q)	+	13 + 11
	17		17		17

∴ Required remainder
= Remainder obtained on dividing
11 + 13 = 24
⇒ 24 = ( 17 × 1 ) + 7
Hence , Required remainder = 7
