Let us assume the 3 consecutive even integers be 2A, 2A + 2 and 2A + 4 respectively.
According to given question,
∴ 2A + 2x + 2 + 2x + 4 = 54
⇒ 6A + 6 = 54
⇒ 6A = 54 – 6 = 48
⇒ A = 8
∴ The least even number = 2A = 2 × 8 = 16
