A rectangular piece of paper of dimensions 22 cm by 12 cm is rolled along its length to form a cylinder. The volume (in cu.cm.) of the cylinder so formed is ( use π = 22/7 )

Paper is folded along the length.
∴ Circumference of the base = 22 cm,
Height of cylinder = 12 cm
∴ 2π r = 22

⇒ 2 ×	22	× r = 22
	7

⇒ r = 7/2 cm
∴ Volume of cylinder = πr²h

=	22	×	7	×	7	× 12 = 462 cu.cm.
