  1. Two trains are running on parallel lines in the same direction at a speed of 50 km and 30 km per hour respectively. The faster train crosses a man in slower train in 18 seconds. The length of the faster train is ?
    1. 170 metres
    2. 100 metres
    3. 98 metres
    4. 85 metres
Correct Option: B

Relative speed of both trains
= (50 - 30) = 20 km/hr
= 20 x (5/18) m/sec.
= (50/9) m/sec.

Let the length of the faster train be L
Then, (L x 9)/50 = 18
⇒ L = (18 x 50)/9
= 100 meters
