Imports and Exports of spare parts by an automobile company over the given years.

  1. During which year the percentage rise/fall in imports from the previous year is the lowest?

  1. View Hint View Answer Discuss in Forum

As per given graph , calculate the difference between two consecutive year change in import.

    Correct Option: D

As per given graph, we calculate the difference in two consecutive years import.
    In 2003, change in imports = (35 - 30)/35 x 100 = 100/7 = 139/7% fall
    In In 2004, change in imports = (40 - 30)/ 50 x 100 = 1/3 x 100 = 331/3% rise
    In 2006, change in imports = (55 - 50)/50 x 100 = 10% rise
    In 2007, change in imports = (60 - 55/55) x 100 = 91/11% rise
Hence, in 2007 the percentage rise/fall in imports from the previous year is the lowest.

  1. In how many months the increase in the price of crude oil was more than 10% with respect to the corresponding previous months?

  1. View Hint View Answer Discuss in Forum

Increase in the price of crude oil in the given month with respect to the corresponding previous months calculate from the given graph.

    Correct Option: C

Increase in the price of crude oil in the given month with respect to the corresponding previous months:
    In March → (3980 - 3210) x 100 /3210 ≈ 24% > 10%
    In April → (4800 - 3980) x 100/3980 = 20.6% > 10%
    In May → (4940 - 4800)/4800 x 100 ≈ 3% < 10%
    In June → (4970 - 4940)/4970 x 100 = 0.6% < 10%
    In July → (5730 - 4970 )x100 /4970 = 15.3% > 10%
    In August → (6250 - 5730)x 100/5730 = 9.07% < 10%
    In September → (7020 - 6250)x 100/6250 = 12.32 > 10%
Hence, in March, April, July and September i.e.. 4 months the increase in the price of crude oil was more than 10% with respect to the corresponding precious months.

  1. Number of girls enrolled in Dancing in Institute A forms what per cent of total number of girls enrolled in all the Hobby classes together in that Institute?

  1. View Hint View Answer Discuss in Forum

Number o girls enrolled in Dancing in Institute by seeing the graph.
Total number of girls enrolled in all the Hobby classes in Institute A by seeing the graph.

    Correct Option: B

Number o girls enrolled in Dancing in Institute A = 150
    Total number of girls enrolled in all the Hobby classes in Institute A = 250 + 325 + 150 = 725 Hence, required percentage = 150/725 x 100 = 20.69

  1. Number of girls enrolled in Stitching in Institute B forms approximately what per cent of the total number of girls enrolled in Stitching in the Institutes together?

  1. View Hint View Answer Discuss in Forum

calculate number of girls enrolled in Stitching in Institute B from given graph.
again find out total number of girls enrolled in Stitching in all the Institutions by seeing the graph.

    Correct Option: A

Number of girls enrolled in Stitching in Institute B = 250
Total number of girls enrolled in Stitching in all the Institutions
    = 325 + 250 + 50 + 250 + 325 = 1200
    Hence, required percentage = 250/1200 x 100 = 20.83 ≈ 21%
