Direction: In each question below is given a statement followed by two assumption numbered I and II. An assumption is something supposed or taken for granted. You have to consider the statement and the following assumption and decide which of the assumption is implicit in the statement.

  1. Statement:
There are lessons to be learnt even in defeats.
    Assumptions:
    I. Some people do not take their defeats seriously.
II. The people who learn in their defeat may become successful in future.
    1. if only assumption I is implicit.
    2. if only assumption II is implicit.
    3. if either I or II is implicit.
    4. if neither I nor II is implicit.
    5. if both I and II are implicit.
Correct Option: B

Taking defeat seriously and taking lesson from the defeat are two different matters. Hence I is not implicit. Why do we need to take lesson from our defeat? The answer clearly is to be successful in future. Hence II is implicit.
