Direction: In each of the questions below, is given a statement followed by three assumptions numbered I, II and III. An assumption is something supposed or taken for granted, you have to consider the statement and the assumptions and decide which of the assumption(s) is/are implicit in the statement.

  1. Statement
Ramesh decided to get the railway reservation in February for the journey he wants to make in May to Chennai.
    Assumptions
    I. The railway issues reservations three months in advance.
II. The are more then one train to Chennai.
III. There will be vacancy in the desired class.
    1. II and III are implicit
    2. Only I is implicit
    3. All are implicit
    4. I and III are implicit
    5. None of the above
Correct Option: B

In the statement nothing has been given about the number of trains and vacancy for reservation. Therefore, Assumptions II and III are not implicit. However, it is given that Ramesh takes reservation for may in February which clearly indicates that there is provision of reservation three months in advance. So, Assumption I is implicit.
