Direction: Each of these questions has a statement followed by two assumptions numbered I and II. An assumption is something supposed or taken for granted. Consider the statement and the following assumptions.

  1. Statement
A leading university has begun a practice of displaying results only on the Internet rather then on the main notice boards.
    Assumptions
    I. All the students enrolled with the university have access to Internet at home.
II. Most of the students referred to the result displayed on both the internet as well as the notice boards earlier.
    1. if only Assumption I is implicit
    2. ifonly Assumption II is implicit
    3. iIf either Assumption I or II is implit
    4. if neither Assumption I nor II is implicit
Correct Option: D

Assumption I is invalid as the assumption is that the students have access to the internet. But it is not necessary that they have this access at home. Further, past practice may not have been borne in mind while switching over to internet only display. Hence, Assumption II is also invalid.
