Direction: A table showing the percentage of the total population of a State by age groups for the year 1991 is given below. Answer the questions given below it.

  1. There are 200 million people below 36 years. How many millions (approx.) people are in the age group 56 – 65?
    1. 30.07
    2. 15.75

Correct Option: B

As per the given above table , we see
Below 36 years, the percent of population is (30 + 17.75 + 17.25) = 65%
Number of people age group below 36 years = 200 millions
Percent of people in age group 56 – 65 = 5.12%

∴ The required number of people =
200 × 5.12
millions = 15.75 millions
