Direction: In each question below is given a statement followed by two conclusions numbered I and II. You have to assume everything in the statement to be true, then consider the two conclusions together and decide which of them logically follows beyond a reasonable doubt from the information given in the statement. Give answer

  1. Statement:
Both the teams X and Y have a history of neck-and-neck matches and they are going to face each other in the supersix round of World Cup cricket matches.
    Conclusions :
    I. In the supersix round if the teams X and Y face each other X will be the winner and Y will be the loser.
II. In the supersix round if the teams X and Y face each other X will be the loser and Y will be the winner.
    1. if only conclusion I follows
    2. if only conclusion II follows
    3. if either I or II follows
    4. if neither I nor II follows, and
    5. if both I and II follow
Correct Option: D

History of neck-and neck matches implies that it is hard to predict well in advance. Do not opt for 'either' because the case of 'draw' can' t be ignored.
