  1. If the interest on loans amounted to $ 2.45 billions, then the total amount of expenditure on advertisement, taxes and research and development is equal to

From the given bar graph , we see
Percentage expenditure on loans = 17.5%
Percentage expenditure on advertisement, taxes and research and development = (15 + 10 + 5)% = 30%
∵ 17.5% ≡ $ 2.45 billion

∴ 30% =
2.45
× 30
17.5

Required answer = $ 4.2 billion
