Direction: Study the following information carefully and answer the questions that follow: An office consists of 520 employees working in different departments, viz. HR, IT, Production and Marketing. The ratio of men to women in the organisation is 5 : 3 . 20 % of the men work in the IT department. 40 % of the women work in the HR department. The total number of employees in the Production department is 135. Two-fifths of the women work in the IT department and the remaining work in the Marketing department. 40 % of the men work in the Production department. 4 % of the men work in the HR department and the remaining work in the Marketing department.

As per given data ,
The total number of employees in the organisation = 520
Ratio of men to women in the organisation = 5 : 3
Number of men in the organisation = 5 x 65 = 325
% of the number of men working in the Marketing department = [ 100 - ( 40 + 20 + 4 ) ]% = 36%
The number of men working in the Marketing department = 325 of 36% = 117

∵ percentage = The number of men working in the Marketing departmentx 100 %
the total number of employees in the organisation

= 117x 100 = 22.5 %
