Direction: These questions are based on following data. Study it carefully and answer the questions that follow. In a school having 400 students, boys and girls are in the ratio of 3 : 5. The students speak Hindi, English or both the languages. 12% of the boys speak only Hindi. 22% of the girls speak only English. 24% of the total students speak only Hindi and the number of boys speaking both the languages is 6 times the number of boys speaking only Hindi.

  1. What is the ratio of the number of boys to the number of girls speaking both the languages?

According to question ,
Total number of students in school = 400 students
Ratio of boys and girls in school = 3 : 5
Let us assume the ration is P.
Number of boys = 3P
Number of girls = 5P
3P + 5P = 400
8P = 400
P = 50
Number of boys = 3P = 3 x 50 =150
Number of girls = 5P = 5 x 50 = 250
Number of boys speaking both the languages = 108
Number of girls speaking both the languages = 117

Ratio =Number of boys speaking both the languages
Number of girls speaking both the languages

=108= 12
