  1. What is the approximate percentage rise in the number of students of College B from 2005 to 2006?
    1. 8
    2. 12
    3. 4
    4. 15
    5. 20
Correct Option: A

Given :- Number of students of College B in year 2005 = 65000
Number of students of College B in year 2006 = 70000
Total increase in the number of students of College B from 2005 to 2006 = Number of students of College B in year 2006 - Number of students of College B in year 2005
= 70000 - 65000 = 5000
∴ percentage rise in the number of students of College B from 2005 to 2006

= Total increase in the number of students of College B from 2005 to 2006 x 100 %
Number of students of College B from 2005

= 5000 x 100 % = 7.69% ≈ 8%
65000
