To use a transistor as an amplifier

1. the emitter base junction is forward biased and the base collector junction is reverse biased
2. no bias voltage is required
3. both junctions are forward biased
4. both junctions are reverse biased.

To use a transistor as an amplifier the emitter base junction is forward biased while the collector base junction is reverse biased.
