From above given all statements , we have
I. Average salary of 7 clerical cadre employees = $ 8500.
Sum of salary of 7 clerical cadre employees = $ 8500 x 7 = $ 60000
II. Average salary of 5 officer cadre employees = $ 10000.
Sum of salary of 5 officer cadre employees = $ 10000 x 5 = $ 50000
III. Average salary of the 3 sub-staff employees = $ 2500.
Sum of salary of 3 sub-staff employees = $ 2500 x 3 = $ 7500Correct Option: B
From above given all statements , we have
I. Average salary of 7 clerical cadre employees = $ 8500.
Sum of salary of 7 clerical cadre employees = $ 8500 x 7 = $ 60000
II. Average salary of 5 officer cadre employees = $ 10000.
Sum of salary of 5 officer cadre employees = $ 10000 x 5 = $ 50000
III. Average salary of the 3 sub-staff employees = $ 2500.
Sum of salary of 3 sub-staff employees = $ 2500 x 3 = $ 7500
Average salary of 15 employees = Sum of salary of 7 clerical cadre employees + Sum of salary of 5 officer cadre employees + Sum of salary of 3 sub-staff employees = 60000 + 50000 + 7500 = $ 117500/15 = $ 7834
- What is the cost of flooring a rectangular hall?
I. The length and the breadth of the hall are in the ratio of 3 : 2.
II. The length of the hall is 48 m and the cost of flooring is $850 per m2.
III. The perimeter of the hall is 160 m and the cost of flooring is $850 per m2.

With the help of any two statements, the value of length and breadth can be calculated. And, combining this with the cost per m2 we get the total cost of flooring the rectangular hall.
Correct Option: E
I.The ratio of length and the breadth of the hall = 3 : 2
II. The length of the hall ( L ) = 48 m and the cost of flooring = $ 850 m2.
III. The perimeter of the hall ( P ) = 160 m and the cost of flooring = $850 m2
With the help of I and II statements, the value of length and breadth can be calculated.
Let length and the breadth of the hall be 3x and 2x.( Given ) length L = 3x = 48 m ⇒ x = 48 = 16 m 3
And breadth 2x = 2 × 16 = 32
∴ Area of rectangular hall = length x breadth = 48 x 32 = 1536 m2 .
And, combing this with the cost per m2 we get the total cost of flooring the rectangular hall.
- What is the total compound interest earned at the end of three years?
I. Simple interest earned on that amount at the same rate and for the same period is $ 4500.
II. The rate of interest is 10 p.c.p.a.
III. Compound interest for three years is more than the simple interest for that period by $ 465.

Let, the sum be $ x
From the statements, I and IIX x 10 x 3 = 4500 100
⇒ x = $ 15000
Correct Option: D
Let, the sum be $ x
From the statements, I and IIX x 10 x 3 = 4500 100
⇒ x = $ 15000∴ CI= 15000 1 + 10 3 - 15000 100
= 19965 - 15000 = $ 4965
From the statements, I and III,
CI − SI = 465
∴ CI = 465 + 4500 = $ 4965
From the statements, II and III,
CI = $ 4965
Hence, any of them can be dispensed with.
- What is the cost of painting the two adjacent walls of a hall which has no windows or doors?
I. The area of the hall is 24 m2.
II. The breadth, length and the height of the hall are in the ratio of 4 : 6 : 5.
III. Area of one wall is 30 m2.

As per given all statements , we can see that
I. The area of the hall = 24 m2
II. The ratio of breadth, length and the height of the hall = 4 : 6 : 5
From II, Let L = 4x , B = 6x and H = 5x
Then, area of the hall = L × B = 4x × 6x
= 24x2 m2
∴ Area of the hall = 24 m2
⇒ 24x2 = 24 ⇒ x = 1 m
L = 4 x 1 = 4 m, B = 6 x 1 = 6 m and H = 5 x 1 = 5 m.
III. Area of one wall = 30 m2Correct Option: E
L = 4 x 1 = 4 m, B = 6 x 1 = 6 m and H = 5 x 1 = 5 m.
III. Area of one wall = 30 m2
Thus, area of two adjacent walls = [( L x H ) + ( B x H )] m2 can be found out and so the cost of painting two adjacent walls may not be found out.
Cost of painting is not given, hence data inadequate.
