  1. The value of Is and R so that N1 and N2 in figure shown below are equivalent—

    1. Is = 15A, R = 0·2Ω
    2. Is = 30A, R = 0·2Ω
    3. Is = 10A, R = 0·4Ω
    4. Is = 15A, R = 0·4Ω
Correct Option: A

Calculation for R—

KCL at node A
ia + 9ia + I = 0
10ia + I = 0
V + 2ia = 0
V – 2. I/10 = 0
or
V = 2 I/10
or
V/I = 0·2
i.e. R = V/I = 0·2Ω
Calculation for ISC—
KCL at node A

ia + 9ia = ISC
or
Isc = 10ia . . . .…(i)
– 3 + 2ia = 0
or
ia = 1·5
and
isc = 10 × ia = 10 × 1·5 = 15A
Hence alternative (A) is the correct choice.
