Urjit Patel took charge as deputy governor of the Reserve Bank of India in January 2013. He became the fourth deputy governor, the other three being K C Chakrabarty, Anand Sinha and Harun R. Khan. Note : There are 4 Deputy Governors BP Kanungo, S S Mundra, N S Vishwanathan and Viral Acharya. Recently B P Kanungo was appointed Deputy Governor in Reserve Bank of India (RBI) for three years. He has been appointed in place of R Gandhi.
