The Mariana Trench is located in the western Pacific Ocean. The deepest point in this trench is known as 'Challenger Deep' which has a depth of around 10,994 meters. This trench was formed as a result of subduction of the Pacific tectonic plate beneath the Mariana tectonic plate.
