                                        The full form of IAS is Indian Administrative Service. It was founded in 1858 as imperial civil service, from 26 January 
 1950 known as Indian administrative services.
 
 IAS exam is conducted by the Union Public service commission (UPSC) every year for the recruitment of officers for all administrative civil services. it is one of the toughest competitive exams in India.
 IAS is one of the highest posts among the 24 government services like IPS, IFS, IDS, TAFS, etc.
 IAS officers can be employed by the central government, state government and public sector undertaking, at the beginning of career IAS officers join as SDM at state administration sub-divisional level and look after law and order.
 
 Eligibility
 Candidate must be graduate with any stream (ARTS, SCIENCE, COMMERCE)  from any recognized university.

 Unlimited Attempts ( SC & ST Candidates)

 Maintain Law and Order and general administration.
 Handle affairs of the Government, like framing and implantation of police with the minster of concern Department.
 
 Disbursement of funds and resources for implementing the policies.
 
 Answer to the Parliament and State Legislatures for any violation of rules while on duty.
 
 Directly answerable to parliament and state legislature for any violation of rules.
