  1. The full form of AYUSH is Ayurvedic, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, and Homeopathy.AYUSH is an Indian ministry department. Earlier it was known as the Department of Indian System of Medicine and Homeopathy (ISM&H).In November 2003 It was renamed the Department of AYUSH. It focuses on the development of education research in Ayurveda, Yoga, and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy in India. it is under the Ministry of AYUSH, which was established on 9 November 2014, before that it was operated by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

    Objective of AYUSH


    To support the research institute for the research on identified diseases for which they have an effective treatment.

    To promote the cultivation and regeneration of medicinal plants used in these systems.

    To establish pharmacopoeial standards for Indian Systems of Medicine and Homeopathy drugs.

    To upgrade the educational standard of Indian Systems of Medicine and Homoeopathy colleges across the country.
