The full form of NDA is National Defence Academy. It is a joint service academy of Indian Armed Forces. In the academy all the three services Army, Navy, Air force cadet get training together, after that they go to their respective service academies for pre-commissioning training.
National Defence Academy (NDA) is established on 7 December 1954 and located in Khadakwasla near Pune, Maharashtra. NDA is the first tri-service academy in the world.
NDA has gives 27 service Chiefs of staff till date,3 Param Vir Chakra, and 12 Ashoka Chakra recipients.
From NDA 137th batch pass out including 188 Army cadets, 38 Naval cadets, 37 Air Force cadets, and 20 cadets from friendly foreign countries.
The candidate selected for NDA through a written exam conducted by UPSC and SSB interview. Approximately 4,50,000 applicants give written exam every year.
NDA offers a 3-year bachelor's degree program in Science and Humanities stream along with the service training to the cadets.
