The full form of OTG is On-The-GO. OTG is a universal serial bus( USB) which allow USB device like a smartphone, tablet to connect with other devices. You can easily connect your mobile phone, tablet to other devices by using USB OTG. OTG was first used in late in 2001 with the concept of device play both master and slave role.
OTG Rules
USB OTG plays two roles for devices:
OTG-A device- OTG -A device is a power supplier
OTG-B device OTG-B device is power consumption
In the default link configuration, OTG A-device work as a USB host and OTG B-device act as a USB peripheral.
Later the host and peripheral modes exchange by using Host Negotiation Protocol (HNP).
How OTG USB work?
USB OTG comes with OTG cable, you can connect your smartphone or tablet with other devices like digital camera, mouse, keyboard etc.
OTG has cable connecter on one side for your phone and another side of the cable is connected with a USB port where we need to plug USB drives.
USB OTG allows devices to switch back and work between the roles of host and device.
