                                        The full form of GTT is Glucose Tolerance Test.
 This test is used to measure  the ability of your body to absorb sugar.
 it is used to diagnoses type 2 diabetes, insulin resistance, impaired beta cell function and gestational diabetes.
 
  Procedure
 This test is performed by trained medical staff. lab technician will take blood sample to measure baseline of your glucose level.
 
 After the test, GTT test performed, there are many variation of GTT  Some of its variations are as follows:
 
  Type 1 or 2 Diabetes
 In this test 75-gram oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT) is used for two hour. firstly a technician will take fasting blood sample to test fasting glucose level.then you have to  drink 8 ounces of a glucose solution which contain 75 grams of sugar. then  you have to wait for around two hours before providing another blood sample.
 
 Gestational diabetes
 
 Doctor use two type of method for this test, the first test is OGTT test blood will be with drawn at 1 hour and 2 hour mark.
 In the second the test you have to  drink 50 gm of sugar solution and then after 1 hour you will give blood sample.
 if the sugar levels is  high in  one-hour screening results. the three-hour screening test is performed, In three-hour screening you have drink 100 grams of sugar solution and then you will give a blood sample at one, two and three-hour duration.
