The full form of KFC is Kentucky Fried Chicken. It is an American fast-food restaurant chain which is specialized in fried chicken. It was founded on 20 March 1930 by Harland Sanders and headquartered in Louisville, Kentucky in the United States. It is a subsidiary of Yum! Brands. as of now, it has 22621 outlets globally in 150 countries. KFC has the second-largest fast-food chain in the world.
History of KFC
1. The founder of KFC is Harland Sanders. He was born in 1890 and raised in Henryville.
2. In1930 he began selling fried chicken from his roadside restaurant at a gas station in Corbin, Kentucky. His fried chicken recipe was a big hit.
3. By 1936, this had demonstrated effective enough for Sanders to be given the privileged title of Kentucky colonel by Governor Ruby Laffoon
4. In 1937 he expanded his restaurant and added a motel and naming it Sanders Court & Café.
5. In 1952, he franchised his recipe to Pete Harman in South Salt Lake, Utah.
6. By 1963 there were 600 KFC restaurants in the United States.
7. In 1964, Sanders sold the company to a group of investors for $2 million.
8. By 1970 KFC chain reached 3000 outlets in 48 countries.
9. In 1997, YUM BRAND takeover the KFC.
