The full form of HDMI is the High Definition Multimedia Interface. It is an exclusive sound/video interface for transmitting uncompressed video and compressed or uncompressed advanced sound information from an HDMI-consistent source device like computer monitor, video projector, digital television, digital audio device, etc. It is a replacement for analogue video standards. It was first designed in December 2002 after that several HDMI versions have been designed and released.
