The full form of RADAR is Radio Detection And Ranging. It is a system that uses radio waves to detect the range, angle, and velocity of the objects. It can be used to detect moving objects such as aircraft, ships, spacecraft, guided missiles, etc. RADAR was developed by many countries for military use during World War II. The term RADAR was given by the united states in 1940.
Major parts of RADAR system
Given below are 6 major parts of a RADAR System:
1.Transmitter-The signal is first generated using a waveform generator and then amplified in the power amplifier.
2. Waveguides-It is used for transmission of RADAR signal.
3.Antenna-The antenna used can be a parabolic reflector, planar arrays.
4.Duplexer-It allows the antenna to be used as a transmitter or a receiver.
5.Receiver-The receiver consists of a processor to process the signal and find it.
