The full form of GAIL is Gas Authority of India Limited. GAIL is an Indian largest natural gas processing and distribution company. Gail is a government undertaking company founded in 1984. It is headquartered in New Delhi. Manoj Jain is the current chairman of Gail India.GAIL was given with the Maharatna standing on one February 2013, by the government of India.
According to the Brand Trust Report 2014, GAIL was in 131 positions among India's most trusted companies.

GAIL has the largest pipeline network across the country, 2300 km long Hazira-Vijaipur-Jagdishpur pipeline which has the capacity to handle 33.4 million cubic metre per day at standard conditions gas.
At present company has more than 11000 km long natural Gas Pipeline in India having a presence in 22 states in the country.
The company operates one of the world longest LPG pipelines more than 2000 km long from Jamnagar Gujarat to Loni Uttar Pradesh.
Gail supply gas to power plants for the production of 4,000 MW of power to fertilizer plants.
