                                        The full form of IATA is the International Air Transport Association. It is a trade association which promotes cooperation among the world's airlines to ensure safe, secure, reliable and economical air service facility. It is founded on 19th April 1945 and headquartered in Canada. It gives consulting services to the airlines' industry, it is responsible for setting technical standards for airlines. IATA is a replacement of the Air traffic association which is founded in 1919 at The Hague, Netherlands. IATA consists of 290 airlines, represents 117 countries.

 IATA individuals and all industry partners have consented to three consecutive ecological objectives:
 
 A normal improvement in fuel efficiency  of 1.5% per annum from 2009 through 2020
 
 A top on net carbon discharges from aeronautics from 2020.
 
 A 50% decrease in net aviation carbon outflows by 2050 comparative with 2005 levels.
