Insulin differs from growth hormone in that it

1. stimulates lipoprotein lipase in vicinity of fat cells
2. increases the transport of amino acids across the cell membranes of muscles
3. increases mRNA/ribosome acitivity
4. stimulates hormone sensitive lipase in fat cells

Insulin is released from the pancreas it helps in conversion of glucose to fatty acids. It increases fat synthesis in adipose tissues.
