The transient stability of the power system can be effectively improve by
-
- excitation control
- phase shifting transformer
- single pole switching of circuit breakers
- increasing the turbine valve opening
Correct Option: A
Since a great majority of transient faults are line to ground in nature, selecting single pole opening and reclosing method, the transient stability is effectively improved. If a transient line to ground fault is assumed to occur on the generator bus it is immediately seen that during the fault there will now be a definite amount of power transfer as different from zero power transfer for the case of a three phase fault. So if the circuit breaker pole corresponding to the faulty line is opened the other two lines remain int act so that consider able power transfer contimues to take place via there lines. Thus the transient stability is effectively improved by this method.
