Electronic Measurements And Instrumentation

  1. A sinusoidal waveform, when observed on an oscilloscope, has a peak to peak ampltitude of 6 cm. If the vertical sensitivity setting is 5V/cm, the rms value of the voltage will be:
    1. 10·6 V
    2. 11·1 V
    3. 12·6 V
    4. 15 V
Correct Option: A

Given,
Peak-to-peak = 6 cm
so,
peak value = 3 cm
sensitivity = 5 V/cm
∴ Amplitude of the signal
= 3 × 5 = 15V
r.m.s. value = Amplitude/√2
= 5/√12= 10·6V
